Washington, DC— Purpose Is Life, Inc. a Washington, D.C. based nonprofit focused on providing services to adolescents and young adults from underserved communities, hosted its 2nd Annual Thanksgiving Meal Giveaway in Washington DC’s Ward 7.
“Our Thanksgiving Meal Giveaway represents bringing our community together and giving back to those in need,” says Jamill C. Jones, CEO and Founder, Purpose Is Life. “There’s something special about Thanksgiving dinner with your family. But unfortunately, there are a lot of people struggling to just put food on the table right now and I am grateful that we are able to make the holiday special for as many local families as possible.”

“It’s a blessing to do this for so many people right here in our community who need this kind of help at Thanksgiving,” says event partner, J.L. Terrell Construction’s CEO and President, Keith McDuffie. “Nearly 15% of households in DC struggle to afford enough food, and during the holidays food insecurity is even more emphasized.”

The event served more than 300 families and was made possible with support of Walmart Giving, Greg Gannon Canned Food Drive, IvyCity Smokehouse, and our event partner J.L. Terrell Construction.
